My Daylesford

Today was the Melbourne Cup; the race that stops a nation. In fact, in parts of Greater Melbourne and the ACT it's a public holiday...for horse race. I don't mind taking the day off though, as strange as that is (did I mention it was a horse race?), as it means I can get away from the bustle and grind for 24 hours.

I decided to take the family to Daylesford for a picnic and walk around the lake...

Mummy prepared a scrummy lunch that we ate with my new friend, a DUCK. I really like DUCKS because it's the only word I can say. (I think I can say "ball" and "balloon" as well but Daddy doesn't think "Ba" is actually a word. I also think I've mastered "thank you" but Mummy the perfectionist told me I have to say "ta" when I'm accepting something, not when I'm giving it, as I do now). Anyway, back to the DUCK...

After the picnic we had a stroll around the lake. Well, Mummy and Daddy strolled, I had my minions push me...

Eventually though I'd thought I'd stretch the old "Bacon 'N Eggs"...

Then after a quick cuddle with Daddy...

It was back playing with DUCKS...

We then took the short drive to the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens...

Before heading off to the Chocolate Mill...

What can't speak can't lie...

And sure enough...

Chocolate heaven...

After purchasing an item or two (or maybe more) we went outside for an ice-cream...

Covered in Belgium choco....can't type...eating...

Mmmmm...Daylesford...

D

P.S. DUCK.
