My Island

Today was a balmy 33 degrees and probably the last hot weekend this summer. So we decided to make the most of it and drive down to Phillip Island. On the way we stopped at the Maru Koala Park to play with the natives...

I NEVER have any luck catching these damn things...

They also had mini golf. I've head it's Australia's best...

Hole 17 involves a ball (like I'm demonstrating) shooting up the pipe behind me...

Then travelling along an intricate system of graduated wires...

And being flung across a baron waste land...

Until finally coming out the other end. Still see the ball?

Then it was off to Cowes on Phillip Island for our picnic lunch...

Which was followed by a stroll along the pier....

And finally a Gelati to finish off the day and cool ourselves from the hot breeze. We had various flavours including mango, noughat, and pineapple. But Dad's fav was the lemon and Mum's was coconut. My fav was d) all of the above.
